An air fryer earns its counter space when it's easy to clean. These five habits keep yours looking new.
1. Line the basket every time
A disposable liner catches grease and crumbs before they bake onto the basket. Lift it out and the mess goes with it.
2. Wipe while it's still warm
A quick wipe with a damp cloth after each use — once the basket has cooled enough to touch — stops residue from building up.
3. Skip the metal scrubbers
Abrasive pads scratch the non-stick coating. With a liner doing the heavy lifting, a soft sponge is all you need.
4. Clean the element occasionally
Unplug, let it cool, and wipe the top heating element with a damp cloth to clear any splatter.
5. Dry fully before storing
Moisture left in the basket can cause odors. Dry every part before it goes back together.
